Getting Married
Many couples choose St Leonard’s Church for their marriage ceremony whether or not they are churchgoers. If you’re considering getting married at St Leonard’s and are wondering how to make a start on all the planning and preparations we strongly recommend you first visit the “Your Church Wedding” website. On this site you will find all that you need to know about Church of England weddings. It is important to know that there are certain requirements that must happen in a church wedding to ensure the marriage complies with both UK civil and Church law. This website explains some of the main legal points to consider before you begin planning.
The next step is to contact our Wedding Coordinator - marriage@copthornechurch.org - who will discuss having your wedding at St Leonard’s. They will ask you to fill in the booking form - if you haven't done so already- and may suggest that you have an initial conversation with one of the clergy.
(Please return the completed form to marriage@turnershillchurch.org)
Following this, you will have a meeting with the Wedding Coordinator who will help you with all the necessary information and identification documents and answer any questions you may have. We will invite you to come to a Marriage Preparation day which which includes videos and discussion. On this day you will receive the full Wedding Information Pack and will you be able to discuss the content of the service, meet the organist, agree rehearsal dates, etc.
